Jesperhus Feriepark reveals an extensive themed play centre to open in Easter 2019 and MK Themed Attractions will bring the design to life by producing the creative characters

Over the last few of years Jesperhus Feriepark has invested a lot in enhancing guests’ themed experience at the park, for example by theming their brand new water park to match the world of the IP Jungledyret Hugo. Now they are investing once again, this time in a themed play centre where MK Themed Attractions will bring their visions to life by producing the creative characters.

“This year we helped Jepserhus Feriepark realize the theming of their new waterpark Hugos Badeland, and now we will also make their visions for 2019 come to life, which we are extremely proud of”, says Lars Nielsen, Themed Attraction Manager at MK Themed Attractions. He continues “We have previously proved that we can deliver to a very high standard and quality when producing IP characters, and are ready to produce yet another IP heavy project for Jesperhus Feriepark.”

Three years ago, Jesperhus Feriepark initiated a process of enhancing the themed experience at the park.

Several famous Danish IP characters are used daily as highly visible figures at the park, where they have their own shows along with other characters. It was the vision of Peter Overgaard, the Managing Director at the park, that the world of these characters should be turned into reality. The realisation of this process has proven to be a successful strategy, with the park seeing an increase in overall visitor satisfaction since implementation.

Jesperhus Feriepark had several ideas for updating the themed experience at the park, and decided to involve visitors in the decision-making process.

“We asked our followers on Facebook to tell us which of our theming ideas they wanted us to make a reality for 2019, and it became very clear that they wanted the world of Zik and Zak come to life,” said Overgaard.

As a result, the new play centre will be named “Zik and Zaks Abeland” and MK Themed Attractions has been chosen to help bring the visualised design to life. They will produce several creative characters including the famous Danish IP characters Zik and Zak, Hugo, Rita, Dellekaj, and the park’s brand new character Dr. Træls, who has been well-received by the guests at the park. In addition, the theme production specialist will also produce dolphins, a boat, a tractor and letters, lianas and other IP characters for the play centre’s brand new façade.

The creative work described in this release was carried out by the Somatic ApS and visualized by Udform IvS.
