Produced theming of Tigeren was taken to a new level
MK Themed Attractions took the produced theme of Tigeren, a 45 meter tall Gyro Swing at Djurs Sommerland, to a new level for the park
In May, right before the summer season at Djurs Sommerland started, MK Themed Attractions installed the theming they had produced for the Danish amusement park’s brand new 45 meter tall Gyro Swing named Tigeren (The Tiger in English). Tigeren is one of the tallest Gyro Swings in Europe, and the fastest attraction at the Danish amusement park.
With a height that is three meter taller than the well-known Sledge Hammer in Bobbejaanland and a speed of 100 kilometres per hour Tigeren has shown to be a great investment “During the one season Tigeren has had so far, we have experienced it being just as popular as the most popular attractions we have” says Henrik B. Nielsen, Managing Director at Djurs Sommerland. He continues “Tigeren has actually at time exceeded our expectations in popularity, which is truly great”.
Tigeren is located at Djurs Sommerland’s Asian themed area that is also the home of Dragekongen that is the fastest and longest Family Suspended Coaster in Europe. The area furthermore includes Junglerally and Safaribussen all with an Asian theme developed by Leisure Expert Group and produced by MK Themed Attractions. However, Henrik B. Nielsen believe the theming of Tigeren stands out from the park’s other attractions “The theming that MK Themed Attractions has produced for Tigeren has been brought to a whole new level compared to what we usually have at our park, as the degree of details in the theming and the quality of it, is of a very high standard.”
MK Themed Attractions is pleased that Henrik B. Nielsen appreciate the quality of the theming they have produced “We always seek to improve ourselves and strive to deliver the best quality possible, which we have done for Tigeren, and we are glad that Djurs Sommerland and their guests have noticed how much effort we have put into the production of the theme.” says René Hansen, Managing Director at MK Themed Attractions.
When Djurs Sommerland was asked why they have chosen a more detailed theme for Tigeren compared to their other less heavy themed attractions Henrik B. Nielsen responds “We see that theming has become more and more important, and through the theming of Tigeren we seek to create an immersive experience for our guests that they can only get with us.” Henrik B. Nielsen adds “A heavy themed queue area also helps build up excitement for the ride and makes the waiting easier and faster for our guests which improve the overall experience our guests have.”
Even though the 45 meter tall Gyro Swing, with its top speed of 100 kilometers per hour, usually would appeal to a smaller thrill seeking segment it has shown that both young, adults and the young at heart has taken on the challenge of Tigeren, which has resulted in a greater segment for the ride than first anticipated.
